Here’s your community calendar for Friday, September 22, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Tuesday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary: Service above self. I’m Steve Cole. For today's events, like the opening night for Little Shop of Horrors at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue,follow the headline.

  • Today is the last day to RSVP with gavin@kdnk.org to receive one free drink at the KDNK fall membership drive Thank You Party on Wednesday, September 27 at Pan and Fork.

  • DOCNA-Dogs on Course North America, a 4-day national dog agility championship event is underway at North Face Park and in the outfield of the Bill Hanks baseball field through Sunday Sept. 24th. A schedule of events is available here.

  • Featured artists discuss their works at the Launchpad at 5:30.

  • Carbondale’s Celtic Fest kicks off at 5:30 in the 4th Street Plaza with the Best Legs in a Kilt Contest at 8.

  • The Carbondale Community Oven hosts a community pizza picnic at 6, dough is provided but it’s B.Y.O. toppings and drinks.

  • Little Shop of Horrors premieres at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue at 6:30.

  • Haden Gregg and Bryan Savage play Heathers at 7.

  • Maudie shows at the Crystal at 7:30.

  • The Temporary at Willits presents Love, Loss, and What I Wore at 7:30.

  • The Caleb Dean Band plays country music at Carbondale’s Third Street Center at 8.

  • Caitlin Canty plays Steve’s Guitars at 8:30.

  • And Ghostland Observatory with Evanoff plays the Belly Up at 10.

Looking ahead…

  • Wilderness Workshop offers guided overnight backpacking in the Thompson Divide, beginning tomorrow at 7:30am. More information here.

  • The Carbondale Community Oven heats up for a bread bake from 10am to noon.

  • Carbondale celebrates OktoberFest in the 4th Street Plaza from 11am to 9:30pm.

  • KDNK broadcasts the Journalist Roundtable at 5pm.

  • And, on Sunday, KDNK hosts David Barsamian of Alternative Radio at 6. KDNK Members can RSVP by emailing gavin@kdnk.org.
