Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk, former tribal council member of the Ute Mountain Ute Nation, former co-chair of the Bears Ears Intertribal Coalition, and current Education Director of the Ute Museum in Montrose, joins Amy Hadden Marsh to talk about Bears Ears and the upcoming Bears Ears Prayer Run.

On August 25, 2017, the Ute Council Tree in Delta, Colorado - a cottonwood considered to be at least 215-years old - was cut down. (Click here for the KDNK news story.) Today's show features Alden Naranjo, Southern Ute historian, Terry Knight of the Ute Mountain Ute Nation, and Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk of the Northern Ute Nation, who came to the ceremony honoring the tree just before it was cut.
