Here’s your community calendar for Friday, March 31st, underwritten by the Mount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary: Service above self. Click the headline to view listings like the Artists of Alamprima at the Launchpad tonight.

  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at noon at the Meeting Place, 981 Cowen Drive in Carbondale and at 6:30 PM at Jaywalker Lodge. A Spanish-speaking group meets at 7:30 PM at 530 Highway 133.

  • Mental health and substance use disorders are top community concerns locally. Today is the last day to take a short Pitkin County Public Health and Human Services survey about these issues. A link is on our website.

  • Marble Distillery hosts a benefit at 5 for Alan Leslie who needs a kidney. Food by Slow Groovin BBQ, live music by You Knew Me When and a silent auction.

  • Carbondale Arts presents the Artists of Alaprima at the Launchpad’s R2 Gallery at 5:30 for an evening of watercolor demonstrations.

  • The Founder screens at the Crystal at 5 and A United Kingdom opens at 7:30.

  • Josephina Mendez plays the Little Nell Living Room at 7:30.

  • Cory Henry and his Revival Band play downstairs at the Little Nell tonight and tomorrow at 7.

  • Valle Musico plays Rivers Restaurant in Glenwood at 8:30.

Looking ahead…

  • Food vendor apps for this year’s Mountain Fair are due tomorrow, April 1st – no foolin'. Applications are available at carbondale arts dot com or at the Launchpad.

  • Roaring Fork High School hosts Valley View’s Community Health Fair tomorrow from 7 to 11 AM.

  • Beginning April 1st through the 22nd, the New Castle and Parachute Branch Libraries will collect new and gently-used stuffed animals to go to Stuffed Animals for Emergencies. SAFE gives them to police, fire & rescue, hospitals, and other organizations who hand them out to kids to help reduce stress. The New Castle Library has more information at 984-2346.

  • And, the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program’s fundraiser, the Let it Be Spelling Bee, is coming up at the Roaring Fork Beer Company, Wednesday April 5.
