  • Elks Lodge in West Glenwood hosts a holiday bazaar from 9 to 3 to benefit Youth Zone.

  • The Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork is hosting the fund-raising Winterfaire & Holiday Artisan Market from 10AM to 3PM at their campus in Carbondale.

  • From 10 to 5, Carbondale Arts continues the Deck the Walls Holiday Show at the Launchpad.

  • Entravision’s legal forum for the Hispanic community is from 3 to 5 at Glenwood Middle School.

  • The Carbondale Library presents the film Eyes on the Prize from 4 - 6 PM. It’s part of a PBS series about the Civil Rights Movement and it’s free to the public.

  • Damian Smith and Dennis Jung play the Red Onion in Aspen from 4 to 6.

  • Mile Markers play Limelight Hotel in Aspen at 4:30.

  • At 4:30, the Wild and Scenic Film Festival continues at the Crystal Theatre, hosted by the Thompson Divide Coalition. Tickets may already be sold out by the time you’re hearing this.

  • Two Rivers Unitarian Univeralist hosts their fifth annual TRUU auction at the Third Street Center from 5 to 8.

  • Wilderness Workshop, the Thompson Divide Coalition and Town of Carbondale celebrate the cancellation of 25 nat gas leases on the Thompson Divide from 6:30 to 9 at Beer Works.

  • Guest bartender night at Marble Distilling starts at 7, with Joe Buckley from The Wild Standard in Boulder handing out sips of his newest creations.

  • Sopris Theatre Company at CMC Spring Valley presents The Seafarer at 7.

  • Symphony in the Valley collaborates with Rifle, Coal Ridge, & Glenwood Springs High Schools, Liberty Classical Academy, and Colorado Mesa University Vocal Arts Ensemble for a seasonal concert at Rifle High School at 7.

  • The Denims and Diamonds Holiday Dance kicks off at the Masonic Lodge in Glenwood at 7:30.

  • Sunlight Mountain Resort hosts the annual Day of Infamy snowshoe race on Sunday at 10AM. Pre-registration and more is on Facebook, at Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale, and Summit Canyon in Glenwood. Proceeds go to Colorado Animal Rescue.

Gavin became one of the youngest station managers in public radio on February 1, 2017. He is a writer and producer with a passion for community media. Prior to starting at KDNK as news director in 2016, Gavin worked for national radio programs Alternative Radio with David Barsamian and Nonprofit Radio with Tony Martignetti along with local stations KGNU Boulder, KYRS Spokane, KRBX Boise, KAOS Olympia, and Air America Radio affiliate KPTK Seattle. His nonprofit management experience includes Open Media Foundation, where he led a government transparency team, and Common Frequency, where his policy advocacy supported dozens of noncommercial radio startups. Boulder Weekly, Raw Story, Austin American-Statesman, Boise Weekly, and The Sopris Sun have published his reporting. His TV credits include directing teams at Colorado Channel, crewing for Democracy Now!, and hosting on Free Speech TV. He graduated from the Evergreen State College in 2008 with a BA in media production and community organizing.
