Carbondale native and artist Chris Hassig talks about his new show at the Launchpad and about his working process. The piece below, Lost Coast, is one of the pieces that sold. The show will hang until November 8.

Peter Gilbert of Dance Initiative about this year's Spectrum Dance Festival. Susan Wrubel, new ED of AspenFilm, about this year's FilmFest. Ivo Marloh, director of All the Wild Horses, one of this year's featured films. And musical interludes from Beppe Gambetta, Conor Oberst and the North Mississippi Allstars.

Peter Gilbert has done more than most to elevate dance in the lower Roaring Fork Valley to a place of greater visibility. Peter's organization, Dance Initiative, brings the sixth Spectrum Dance Festival to the Launchpad in Carbondale this weekend, and here he describes this year's gathering.

El Colectivo, a local Latino arts group, will stage a reading of Draw Me a Lamb by Juarez playwright Karmina Fanjul at the Launchpad on Saturday, August 12 at 7pm as a benefit for Ms. Fanjul's children's theater group in Juarez. KDNK's Alejandra Rico spoke with Carlos Herrera in the studio, and Karmina Fanjul from Juarez. You'll also find a partial transcription of the chat in the Sopris Sun, here.
