Monica Quevedo, 18, graduates from Glenwood Springs High School in June and to cap off her Senior Project, she plans to ask the Glenwood Springs City Council to accept a resolution that will protect immigrants. On today's show, she and Sophia Clarke, campaign manager and Rocky Mountain point person for Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, talk about the project and about immigration issues impacting the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. Monica goes before GWS City Council on May 17th.

Over 17,000 “dreamers” in Colorado await resolution as the US Senate begins the immigration debate this week. Although Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, is central to the discussion, the implications for federal immigration policy are even greater. KDNK’s Raleigh Burleigh reports.

The second of five bilingual community meetings, hosted by Glenwood Springs attorney Jennifer Smith and the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, drew about 20 people to Bridges High School Sunday.  KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh sat down with Smith to talk about the meetings and the purpose they serve.
