In response to growing distrust between Carbondale’s immigrant population and local police, the Town passed a resolution to improve outreach. Four months have since passed and KDNK’s Raleigh Burleigh has this update.

On Tuesday, November 28, Carbondale Trustees signed a contract with Microgrid Energy, subscribing to a solar garden. KDNK’s Raleigh Burleigh reports.

Stein Properties Project

Tuesday night, November 14, Carbondale Town Trustees approved the Stein Properties Project, a major mixed-use development replacing the empty lot in the Northeast corner of the roundabout, next to Crystal River Spas and across from Subway, with commercial and residential rentals. KDNK’s Raleigh Burleigh spoke with architect Raul Gawrys about his design.

The Carbondale Board of Trustees met last night. Among items on the agenda, including the swearing-in of Luis Yllanes, there was ample focus on recent bear activity within and around the town. John Groves, representing Colorado Parks and Wildlife, warned that the activity could worsen and persist into November. The trustees also waived an ordinance to allow Rio Grande weed-eating goats to travel through town and adopted a resolution affirming Carbondale's support for the immigrant community. Luis Yllanes, Senior Director of Exhibitions, Registration, and Installation, spoke to KDNK's Raleigh Burleigh about his recent appointment to the Carbondale Board of Trustees.

The Carbondale Board of Trustees has appointed Luis Yllanes, a KDNK DJ, to fill the temporary vacancy left by Katrina Byars. The motion was made by Marty Silverstein and seconded by Ben Bohmfalk.
