Yarnell Fire Report Leaves Many Questions Unanswered

October 22, 2013
This summer's Yarnell Hill fire killed 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and in the wake of that tragedy, the Arizona state Forestry Division convened a team of experts from around the country to try to figure out what happened to the team before they died. The experts released that "Serious Accident Investigation" report late last month, before the partial government shutdown took over the news cycle.

For a breakdown of the report, KDNK's Eric Skalac spoke to Michael Kodas, associate director of the center for environmental journalism at the University of Colorado. Kodas is also an author and photographer who focuses on hazards like wildfire.
