Former Gordon Cooper Library parcel rezoned with conditionsOctober 14, 2013
At a recent meeting, Carbondale trustees rezoned the land beneath the former Gordon Cooper library. The group planning the future James Surls museum and education center needed that zoning change in order to complete the project. Trustees took public comment on the zone change, and many who spoke were concerned about potential impacts to the surrounding neighborhood.
KDNK's Eric Skalac spoke to Carbondale mayor Stacey Bernot to find out more about why the rezoning was necessary and what comes next for the former library building.
