Here’s your community calendar for Saturday, July 29 ~Mountain Fair Weekend~ underwritten by theMount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale. Rotary: Service above self. Click the headline for today's list of events, including the 46th Annual Mountain Fair's music lineup!

  • Carbondale’s 46th Annual Mountain Fair features a limbo contest at 1:30, woodsplitting at 4, poetry at 4, aerial dancing at 6:45, and so much more. Saturday’s bands include Frank Martin at 11am, Valle Musico at 12:30, Jay Roemer Band at 2:30, The Yawpers at 5:15 and Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal at 7:30.   • The Glenwood Springs Car, Motorcycle and Vintage Snowmobile Show continues with awards and prizes at 2:30.

  • The Snowball Party mingles across Aspen and begins at 5. Information and tickets here.

  • Moors & McCumber perform at Redstone Park at 6.

  • Solpride performs at Grove’s Black Dog Saloon in New Castle at 7:30.

  • The Crystal Theatre is closed tonight for Mountain Fair.

  • The Jay Roemer Band Featuring Dave Carroll performs at Steve’s Guitars at 8:30.

  • & Berkel Beats Djs at Belly Up Aspen at 9:30.

  • Sunday’s Mountain Fair music includes The Railsplitters at 12:30, Mono Verde Collective at 2:30, & March Fourth Marching Band at 5:15.

  • The Rail Splitters perform at Steve’s Guitars Sunday night at 8.

Raleigh Burleigh was raised in the historic floodplanes of Satank. The Carbondale Rotary Club sponsored him as a youth ambassador to Chile the year before his graduation from Roaring Fork High School. He studied International Affairs and Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder then applied those studies traveling throughout South America the following year. Returning to Carbondale thereafter, Raleigh acquired an internship with KDNK News which led to the opportunity to serve as News Director from 2017 to 2019. After another trip to South America in early 2019, Raleigh Burleigh drew deeper into the confluence as Program Director at KDNK. Raleigh now serves on KDNK's board of directors and as editor of Carbondale's weekly newspaper, The Sopris Sun.
