KDNK's  Community Calendar for Saturday, June 10th, is underwritten by theMount Sopris Rotary Club, meeting every Thursday at noon at Mi Casita in Carbondale.  Rotary: Service Above Self. Click on the headline to see events such as today's grand opening of Roaring Fork Aikikai, the first dedicated Aikido dojo in the Roaring Fork Valley.

  • The White River National Forest has partnered with the Aspen Skiing Company, RAFTA, the City of Aspen, Aspen Chamber Resort Association and Pitkin County to come up with visitor options at the Maroon Bells. Changes this year include an informational hotline and overflow parking on weekends in September. The info line will be updated daily. That number is 945.3319.   • Roaring Fork Aikikaipresents its grand opening today of the first, dedicated Aikido dojo in the Roaring Fork Valley at 2553 Dolores Way in Carbondale. 
  • There's a CARE Adoptathon at Petco in West Glenwood Springs from 10 – 12:30. 
  • It's Roaring Fork Kids Mountain Biking Day beginning at 10 at the Buttermilk Ski Area. Small groups with adults supervision will head out between 10:30 and noon. Free pizza at 12:30!
  • The Colorado Brewers Guild presents the Snowmass Rendezvous Craft Beer Festivaltoday with Hot Buttered Rum on Fanny Hill. 
  • The Smiling Goat Ranch hosts the Go Autism Family Fun Walk and Party from 1 – 4, beginning at the Gus Darien Arena.
  • The Carbondale Community Oven fires up from 1 – 3 at the Third Street Center.
  • Thunder River Theatre Company hosts its annual fundraiser, the Masquerade Gala, at The Orchard in Carbondale at 5.
  • Glenwood Vaudeville Review presents magic with Doc Eason and Merrick Martin. Dinner and drinks at 6:30. Show starts at 7:30.
  • The Crystal Theatre in Carbondale screens Buena Vista Social Club Adios tonight at 5. Norman with Richard Gere at 7:30 tonight and Sunday night. And, a captioned version of Their Finest Sunday at 5.

LOOKING AHEAD...

  • Carbondale's first concert of the Summer Music Series opens in Sopris Park from 4 – 7 PM Sunday, featuring local bands Lookout Mountain Showdown and the Hell Roaring String Band. No alcohol. No glass. No pets. KDNK will broadcast the music live, so tune in if you can't go.
