River Bridge Regional Center Expands to New Building with SANE Alliance

Raleigh Burleigh

River Bridge Regional Center is expanding into a new building for enhanced child advocacy services and to offer a new home to the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Alliance. While touring the new building, KDNK’s Raleigh Burleigh spoke with River Bridge Regional Center Executive Director Blythe Chapman.

On Friday,  December 7, a small crowd gathered at 504 21st Street in Glenwood Springs to celebrate the ribbon-cutting for River Bridge Regional Center’s new facility.

The building is located just across the street from River Bridge Regional Center’s current building and includes space for the Mountain West Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Alliance. For the first time since the Roaring Fork Valley’s SANE program closed in 2012, services for survivors of sexual assault, including exams, will once again be available in the Glenwood-area.

Raleigh Burleigh was raised in the historic floodplanes of Satank. The Carbondale Rotary Club sponsored him as a youth ambassador to Chile the year before his graduation from Roaring Fork High School. He studied International Affairs and Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder then applied those studies traveling throughout South America the following year. Returning to Carbondale thereafter, Raleigh acquired an internship with KDNK News which led to the opportunity to serve as News Director from 2017 to 2019. After another trip to South America in early 2019, Raleigh Burleigh drew deeper into the confluence as Program Director at KDNK. Raleigh now serves on KDNK's board of directors and as editor of Carbondale's weekly newspaper, The Sopris Sun.
