  • Democrat Ed Perlmutter, who represents Denver in Congress, will make two local stops today on his campaign for governor. At 2:30, he speaks at the Rifle Public Library. Then from 5 to  7, he hosts a Happy Hour at the Glenwood Springs Brew Garden. 

  • Basalt Regional Library hosts Lego Fun for Everyone at 4.

  • Aspen City Council meets at 5.

  • Glenwood Springs Elementary School offers a social media awareness presentation for parents at 5:30.

  • The non-fiction book club meets at the Pitkin County Library at 5:30.

  • African and World Dance meets at the Carbondale Community School at 6.

  • Colorado Connections hosts an information session at the Glenwood Springs Community Center at 6:30.

  • The Silt Town Trustees meet at 7.

  • Monday Night Meditation and discussion at True Nature in Carbondale is at 7.

  • The Lost City of Z plays at the Crystal Theatre at 7:30.

  • Doctor Strange shows at the Belly Up Aspen at 7:30.

Looking ahead…

  • Mt. Sopris Historical Society hosts a seed packaging party on Tuesday at 4 at the log cabin on the corner of Weant Blvd and Hwy 133.

  • Dandelion Day is back, this Saturday, May 13th, with live music and all sorts of sustainable fun. KDNK will operate the beer tent with selections from Marble Distilling, Roaring Fork Beer Company and Black Bridge Winery in Paonia. All beer tent proceeds benefit KDNK.

Raleigh Burleigh was raised in the historic floodplanes of Satank. The Carbondale Rotary Club sponsored him as a youth ambassador to Chile the year before his graduation from Roaring Fork High School. He studied International Affairs and Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder then applied those studies traveling throughout South America the following year. Returning to Carbondale thereafter, Raleigh acquired an internship with KDNK News which led to the opportunity to serve as News Director from 2017 to 2019. After another trip to South America in early 2019, Raleigh Burleigh drew deeper into the confluence as Program Director at KDNK. Raleigh now serves on KDNK's board of directors and as editor of Carbondale's weekly newspaper, The Sopris Sun.
