Colorado Wild Public Lands for hosting the candidates forum on Public Lands at the Third Street Center last night. About 150 people showed up to listen. KDNK recorded the event and we will post the entire unedited audio of a dozen candidates on our site later today. We have a lot more election coverage in the works between now and when ballots get mailed around October 17th.
Congratulations are in order for the Carbondale Clay Center! On Wednesday, Sept. 21st, the state awarded the Center a two-year “Colorado Creates” grant worth $6,500 annually. Funds will go toward operational expenses for year round art programming. Since 1997, the Clay Center has played a pivotal role in the local art scene by offering ceramic classes, kids clay camps, gallery exhibitions, artist residencies, and more. Members of the Acoma tribe are restoring wildlife habitat along the Rio Grande watershed this week. Eric Galatas reports.
The White River National Forest is seeking public comment on a proposal within the Beaver Creek area on the Rifle Ranger District, the Teepee Park Ranch Project. The proposal includes realigning National Forest System Road 824 for about three quarters of a mile, installing new underground pipelines within the road corridor, and improving the upper Beaver Creek trailhead.
