On Thursday, KDNK Community Access Radio, the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce and The Sopris Sun hosted a mayoral candidates forum featuring current town trustee Katrina Byars, former trustee Ed Cortes and current mayor pro tem Dan Richardson. Moderator Jim Green, director of Community Education at Colorado Mountain College asked all three candidates a series of questions in front of a few dozen community members gathered in the Calloway Room at the Third Street Center. Highway 133 between the McClure Pass summit and Paonia Reservoir opened in both directions Friday after a massive rockslide dumped over 100 tons of rock and dirt on the road early Wednesday morning. Main Street in Aspen between Galena and Spring Street is closed from 7:30 AM to 9 PM today. The right turn lane onto 6th Street at the north end of the Grand Avenue Bridge will be closed this week, Monday through Friday.
