Cranford Hollow

  • Basalt Library hosts “Lego Fun for Everyone” from 4 to 5. After school drop-ins welcome.

  • At 6, Carbondale Community School hosts “Dance for a Cause” featuring live African drumming. All ages and skill levels welcome. Proceeds benefit the ACLU.

  • At 6:30, the Wheeler Opera House features a program of short documentary films called People of Impact.

  • Also at 6:30 the Holistic Moms Network is back at The Orchard in Carbondale for a talk on Infant Sleep education led by Brittani Chilson of Under the Willow.

  • The Riviera Supper Club in Glenwood hosts live piano music during dinner starting at 7.

  • The Monday Night Meditation group meets at True Nature Healing Arts from 7 to 8:30.

  • Dr. Greg Feinsinger will deliver a presentation about the science behind plant-based nutrition at Carbondale’s Third Street Center from 7 to 8:30.

  • Belly Up Aspen presents fiddle-drenched southern rock melodies from Cranford Hollow at 10.

Looking ahead…

  • Tomorrow, Democractic candidate for Governor, Mike Johnston, a former state senator representing Denver who grew up in Vail, will host a meet-and-greet at the Third Street Center from 5 to 6:30.

  • Wednesday, our partner nonprofit the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program hosts the “Let it Spelling Bee” fundraiser at Roaring Fork Beer Company from 6 to 8PM.

Gavin became one of the youngest station managers in public radio on February 1, 2017. He is a writer and producer with a passion for community media. Prior to starting at KDNK as news director in 2016, Gavin worked for national radio programs Alternative Radio with David Barsamian and Nonprofit Radio with Tony Martignetti along with local stations KGNU Boulder, KYRS Spokane, KRBX Boise, KAOS Olympia, and Air America Radio affiliate KPTK Seattle. His nonprofit management experience includes Open Media Foundation, where he led a government transparency team, and Common Frequency, where his policy advocacy supported dozens of noncommercial radio startups. Boulder Weekly, Raw Story, Austin American-Statesman, Boise Weekly, and The Sopris Sun have published his reporting. His TV credits include directing teams at Colorado Channel, crewing for Democracy Now!, and hosting on Free Speech TV. He graduated from the Evergreen State College in 2008 with a BA in media production and community organizing.
